My first giveaway!
I won Born at Midnight from Amber at Awesomesauce BookClub this month and I absolutely loved it! CC Hunter herself sent me a bunch of stuff too! On Tuesday, I got a second copy of the book and to be honest I am not sure who sent it to me (betting on the publishing company). Anyway! I have two and I am going to be giving it away in a week!

Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter
I am really excited about this one because this was the first book I won through blogging and Amber at AwesomeSauce Book Club and C.C. Hunter sent me tons of cool stuff!
Don’t miss this spectacular new series that will steal your heart and haunt your dreams, Welcome to Shadow Falls camp, nestled deep in the woods of a town called Fallen…
One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.” Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.
Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.
Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs…
On to my review: This book is great for teens because it really focuses on finding a person's identity and Kylie is a teenager with a ton of problems: her Nana died, her mother is a cold woman, her parents are getting a divorce, and her boyfriend, Trey, has dumped her. You feel for the girl immediately. When she goes to this camp it is very clear that the people in this camp are different, and in the way that they drink blood, have anger issue around the full moon, and can control people's emotions. When the supernatural world is dropped on Kylie she really resists it.
She does become good friends with two other supernaturals that show her that being different isn't so bad. She also has two extremely HOT guys chasing after her. Derek - the good guy and Lucas - the bad guy. I am officially on Team Lucas. Anyone else want to join up with me?
One thing I really liked about Hunter's writing style is that she really captivated how a teen would talk. She had some swearing but not overbearing. She had dialogue that fit into current pop culture. The "action" of the story wasn't a constant factor in the story but it was Ok in this book.

And this week's question is:
Do you judge a book by it's cover?
I sure do! If I have not heard anyone talk about the book, the cover is the first thing my opinion settles on. If the cover doesn't scream: "HEY! PICK ME UP!" I will pass it by. A book is a product and if it is published someone or a bunch of someones spent a lot of time on it; it should be good!
